Bridger Myers was born May 30, 2003 to Darin and Ginni Myers. He has been a busy little guy for a number of years and plans to continue his busy-ness.

Bridger played him game this morning and Casper won. Bridger tried hard to get in position to be able to score. Funny thing is, the other players have to pass the puck, which doesn't always happen. We are getting ready to head over and play the last game of the day.
Bridger and Darin did go up and ski today. The group picture has kids from his class. The small boy in the front is Jens, Barrett's younger brother. Darin said he got the "parent of the day" designation from the Mother's because he remembered a camera. He also told me he got to ski with the Moms. The wind did BLOW all day long. They endured and sounds like they had fun.

he scores!!!
Bridger played tonight and scored a goal in the second period!!!! I only missed about 1 minute of the game. I didn't think of taking the camera with me this morning.
It is a one sided game with Douglas. The score was 6 to 1. I was happy for Douglas to have scored. Those kids worked so hard against our kids. A coaches' kid dropped his stick and ended up skating down the ice with the puck between his skates and trying to kick it in.
I was just happy for Bridger. After the game he asked if he could get an Ipod or an Ipad. I can't remember which one. Darin was actually the one that shot him down on that one. We did take him to Wonderful House for dinner. It was packed and we had to wait about 20 min. It just amazes me the amount of food that they serve up.
I was told I didn't have to be there at 6am tomorrow, just 7am. It is snowing now and is supposed to snow all night. Should be fun getting going in the morning. Between hockey games Darin and Bridger are going skiing. It is the PE club monthly event.

outhouse races
I saw this and thought Judi would get a small chuckle out of this.
Sick Call update: They both went back to school today.
They are off to hockey practice. Bridger has a game tomorrow night at 5:15pm. I might be a little late for that one. I dont' tend to get home that quick. then back up 12 hours later to get ready for the day and be at the rink at 6am. I should have a good parking spot!
Hope everyone has a good Friday!!!!

Bridger stayed home on Tuesday with me. I was so proud that I got my work computer stuff done. Then I had to go back to work today. 10Xs worse today. The management is putting together protocols that say we have to have documents, patient charts, labs/x-rays all reviewed within 72 hours. I am usually pretty good about 24 hours, but makes me feel uneasy to have a time limit on it.
We didn't too much on Tuesday. I felt like I was always cooking. Bridger tires easily, but goes like a sparkplug when he does have energy. He said his throat hurt, his ears hurt, his chest hurt and he had diarrhea a couple of times. I am just glad there was no throwing up.
Darin stayed home today and I made Bridger go to school. He did get his Wed Taco John's. Darin said he got called about 10am to come and get him. Darin had body aches and a bad headache. After I got home, loaded the dishwasher and started dinner, I heard they actually went in the hot tub. They also offered to go again for me! Aren't they so thoughtful.

Guess Grandpa Roger should check the blog early today. The wind is blowing good tonight. I just wasn't sleeping very well. Thought I would work on my computer stuff from home, but system is down. Figures.
When I picked up Bridger last night they told me he had been laying down for the last 1 1/2 hours. He told them he had a headache and didn't feel good. He was weepy in the car ride home. I got him settled at home and he said he was hungry. Whatever it was did not effect his appetite. He went through two bowls of mashed potatoes/chicken noodle soup, some chips, a homemade strawberry shake, can of sprite, a PBJ and wanted more. I gave him Tylenol a couple of times. He had a cough when he got up Sunday morning, but I didn't really notice it throughout Sunday or last night. I have been seeing some sick kids at work, but nothing quite like what Bridger seems to have. He missed his basketball game last night. Darin was a wonderful dad and took the treats we had for last night. It was our turn.
I haven't heard anything through the night from him. It should be a good sign for going to school tomorrow(today). Darin and I have parent-teacher conference for Bridger after school today. He has been doing so much better with his reading. He is going to write a biography about Jim Bridger for presentation. He could pick anyone he wanted. Darin suggested Jim Bridger. Over the summer Bridger and I read a children's biography about Jim Bridger. We should have him check out that book again for resource.
We had several inches of snow that we woke up to on Monday morning. On the late news last night there was a picture posted showing 2-3 foot drifts in Sundance from over the weekend. When I left work last night the snow was already starting to soften. My temp gauge said 26 degrees. I think I heard that we were getting Chinook winds, which should help make the streets a mushy mess.
Happy Tuesday all!!

penalty box
We got to Gillette Friday night around 8:30pm. Bridger was in the pool by 8:45pm. I got the fun of waiting for the pizza to be delivered and then announcing that it was time to eat. That was not met with great enthusiasm.
Saturday morning Bridger's game was at 9:30am. He played his usual calm manner. They won their game and looked pretty good doing it. They would be surprised later. We had lunch with my friend Margie and her husband, Scott. At lunch we were joking around with Bridger that it wouldn't be a bad thing to get put in the penalty box, especially him. He is never aggressive and we thought if he actually got put in the penalty box it would be something. We also bargained with him that if he scored a goal anytime this weekend he could have a new Xbox game. He lit up like you could not believe! He continued to try and bargain, bless his little heart. If he got a hat trick-he got two games.
So after lunch they played at 2:15 and he came out like a flury. He tried and tried to score, but no luck for the 2nd game. They had an hour break and then had to play again. They didn't play very well against a strong team and ended up losing both afternoon games. Bridger again tried and tried to score, but no luck. His spirits were pretty good and I told him our deal would extend into this next weekend for our home tournament. He had one last chance this morning to earn himself a game. He did come out strong. So strong that he did earn himself a spot in the penalty box. The sad part was that he didn't understand what he did wrong.
Darin was the coach for the penalty box and kept track of shots on goal. I could tell from Bridger's body posture he was upset. When he sat down in the penalty he put his head down and Darin sat down by him immediately. He did this fairly quick into his rotation and had to sit there until his rotation was over (total rotation 3 min). He was called for slashing. He was working hard to get the puck away from the offense and just got to far behind the other kid when he came down with his stick. The other kid was not knocked down. After he came out of the box he then had to sit on the bench until it was his turn again. One of the other coaches sat with him telling him it was OK what happened. I could tell he was crying. I felt so bad for him that he was so upset. But, I stayed put and let them deal with him.
The next rotation out on the ice he scored his goal. He raised his stick in the air and several other boys did in response. He was so proud of himself. He tried and tried again to score. He got really close a couple of times. On the way home we asked what his first thought was after he scored. He paused for a moment and I figured he would say, "my new game". But, he said, "I was very proud of myself."
We went right to the GameStop when we got to town and he picked out his game. He kept making sure we were going RIGHT HOME! He did go right up to his room to play. The neighbor boy called and he has gone across the street to play now.
No school tomorrow, but Darin has parent-teacher conferences and I have to work. I only get 7 paid holidays now and even then they come out of my vacation bank of days. Tomorrow is not one we get anymore. Love all the changes at work---NOT!

Thursday night we watched the 2nd grade music program at Verda James. Bridger was a zebra. I loved his hat. The kids sang several songs all with a jungle theme towards animals. It lasted about 40 minutes, with another 20 min standing around chatting-because we had an adult MYERS with us who knows EVERYONE!!! I am exaggerating-he didn't know everyone, just almost, he-he!!!

wed a day off
Awhile back I worked the 4 10 hour days and worked the Friday of the same week that I would normally have off. Today is my retribution day. Bridger's daycare is supposed to be closed for the electric company to do some repairs on the system in that area. It really should not have effected us. I could be a little late to take him to school and Darin could pick him up. But, I decided to just go ahead and use the day I had coming for today.
I let Bridger sleep in until 7:30am. Most mornings I think how fun it would be to just lay there and talk to him. It seems like we never really have time. But, today I laid down with him and chatted with him. We also got into a tickle contest, which he just loves. It is such a wonderful sound to hear your child laugh in pure delight. I got him to take a shower without much fight this morning since he was in a good mood. He got breakfast made to order-semi-soft eggs and toast. I added strawberries and milk. He really put a good fight about not getting Taco John's on Wed am.
We headed off to school and a little over half way up the hill we heard the bell ring. We managed to get inside before the second bell. I stopped at the desk and inquired of his lunch time. He will hopefully get a surprise lunch with me today.
I have no definite plans. It always seems like these kind of days go by so fast. We might get a work-out in at the WAC (Wyoming Athletic Club) after school. Yesterday Bridger and I went over and played raquetball. It ended when I accidently hit him in the head with the ball. I could tell he was getting tired. We stopped and went to shoot around the basketball. He is getting better with dribbling and shooting. He has an adorable jump shot where he practically kicks himself in the butt. He will not do lay-ups. I have tried and tried to get to try. The coach he has for basketball has been doing lay-ups for drills. He won't do them for her either. Bridger has his first game tonight.
We are going to Gillette for the weekend for a hockey tournament. It is our first tournament during the season. We have missed everyone up to this point.
Next weekend there is a tournament Casper is putting on for Bridger's league. If I remember right, Pinedale plays Rapid City at 6am on Sat. I signed up to do the hostess room at that time. It is really hard work. I have make sure the breakfast goodies are stocked and keep making coffee. I honestly thought how hard could it be, because there will only be two teams running around at that time. No other team is going to get there until the next game at 7am. I think I signed up for something else at 7am Bridger doesn't play until 9:15. So Rollie are you still thinking about coming over to watch hockey!!!!
Sunday Bridger had games. He did very well being a team player and passing the puck to other players who were open. He would try to find Barret and pass to her if he could. One play had the crowd gasping "oh!" when Bridger passed to her, she to another boy and he then scored. There are few boys who don't have that team concept down and skate to score every time. It is frustrating to watch them.
Just so you know I tried countless times to make better paragraphs. The computer keeps going down on me and every edit did something else. Yes, I did try the paragraph p
thing and nothing would work. Sorry it has all ran together.Bridger behind blue line, Barrett to his left |

Happy Valentine's Day (on Monday)
I am up, but not for the day by any means. The wind is howling tonight. It gave it a good shot all through the day, but tonight it rattling the house. Shasta got left outside and I have heard him whimpering. I will probably let him in when I am done here. He has been on a terror this week.
I have been nice and let him stay in the days it is below 20 degrees. We shut him in the blue bathroom upstairs. I understand he can get bored, but that doesn't mean eat things no one should eat. He managed to eat two pieces of hand soap that were gingerbread men. He also annilated a comb. I thought to myself at the time of discovery that there would be a price to pay. Uh-hh! Bridger's white carpet-brown stain that has to be the gingerbread men. And I just had the Spot-bot here..... Might have to get one for ourselves.
Should have been a good day yesterday. I was up and gone by 7:30am to get the oil changed. Almost $70 dollars and 20 min later I was at Kmart buying laundry soap. I could explain why $70-but let's just say it has to do with an air filter and needing more oil than the "standard allowable amount". Back home I started the laundry, which was kept up through the day.
Bridger had Gage over for a sleep over Friday night. Around midnight I checked on them. Bridger and Gage were both laying in bed. Bridger was playing his DSi and Gage was trying to sleep on the inside of the bed. Funny-last weekend when Sammy wanted to have the inside of the bed-Bridger told her NO! He said it was his favorite spot. Last weekend Sammy woke me up at 3am to tell me Shasta wouldn't quit licking her. Poor girl, how awful. Shasta got moved to our room. So Bridger and Gage were up when I left at 7:30am. I made pancakes for breakfast. They devoured them and moved onto other things. Before Gage left he got to hot tub with Bridger and Darin.
During our lunch break, Bridger and I told Darin we were wondering about having Netflix through the Wii. Darin worked most of the afternoon on setting it up. I think about 5pm he finally got the codes all correct and we had Netflix. While I was making dinner, Bridger fell asleep watching a movie. We let him sleep, as he tends to be a little BEAR getting woken up. He was anyway, especially when he realized he had missed the end of the movie he was watching.
We watched another movie and then decided to hot tub. When I went to bed Darin was engrossed with the Warren Miller ski documentaries that he could watch on Netflix. Bridger had his rocking chair pulled up next to Darin watching with him.
The wind is supposed to blow on Sunday as well. However, it is supposed to be WINDY as opposed to VERY WINDY on Saturday per the paper. We have hockey tonight (Sun) and it is game night. Meline's have already booked us for dinner afterward.

Basketball
Bridger has basketball on Monday and Wednesday nights. He got home last night and wanted to show off his dribbling skills. Right now we are in a two sport season since hockey is still going on. We will be done with hockey at the first of March.
At the Superbowl party Bridger got to play someones Mario game and really enjoyed it. Ginni found a used one at our game store and got it for him. He got a little frustrated with this game though, because if you loose you go back to the beginning instead of starting where you were.
We are thinking about letting him have a friend overnight on Friday and then taking them skiing on Saturday. I am all for it except the wind is suppose to be strong. Oh well, part of living in Wyoming. At least we don't have over 200 days of rain like WA.
I have been going to Bridger's school on Friday afternoons and working with his class. I really enjoy it and so does his classmates. They have a play coming up next week that should be fun to watch.
I hope everyone is staying warm and keeping their heads above the snow.

superbowl Sunday
Not for sure what this is about? Someone doesn't look happy
first chance of skiing 2011
I don't ever remember getting this luxury before
Gage and Bridger having a snack between runs
Darin said Bridger did well. Bridger got himself caught in some powder and had trouble getting back down to Darin. Darin said he had go back up and get him. I remember trying to ski in powder that was up to my waist at Big Sky. Darin was no where around and I was on my own. I had to give myself a "little" talking to in between the tears of frustration. Obviously I lived to tell about it and have hated powder ever since. I can only imagine what Bridger went through. It sounds like he was game to try anything Darin wanted to ski.
There was no hockey practice tonight because of the super bowl. We were invited to a couple of parties. We chose to go to an office party of mine. We had a nice time. We left at the beginning of the 4th quarter and by the time we got home the Packers had won. I didn't think that I drove that slow.
We are off and running for another week.

still cold!!!!!!!!
I pulled these pictures up from Feb 2007. I can't believe it has been four years. Four years ago we found and bought our land. We went to Devil's Tower the weekend we went over to check out the land.
In the other picture, Bridger is actually mad. You can't really tell, but I just remember this. He hasn't always liked skiing and that particular picture is an example of him telling me exactly that-he'd had enough!!!!
I ran home at lunch today and turned on the pellet stove. Darin said it was still going when he got home at 3:30. He went up to get Bridger today. I had to work on my "off" afternoon. I am helping train the new OB/Gyn on our computer system. He does seem like a nice guy. I feel good about my knowledge that I have retained from when I was practicing in Billings. I am looking forward all the new stuff he says he wants to teach me. I am hoping we can make a good combination. We still don't know when we get to move to the new building just for us. I know this is supposed to be about Bridger-but I heard through the grapevine that at our all clinic staff meeting I will be getting Employee of the month. I can park up front by the back door for a month for the distinguished honor!!!! Actually I am glad that i found out ahead of time-I am less likely to cry. i will make sure to acknowledge my loving husband who has stood beside me for 20 years, encouraging me to be the best I can be. Yes, honey, I am laying it on thick!!!
Bridger celebrated 100 days of school today. He reminded me at 7:15am he was going to need 100 pieces of something to add to the class GORP mix. I decided he could take 100 white chocolate chips. He was fine with that. I remember going and helping last year in the class room for 1st grade. I got to help 17 kids string 100 fruit loops onto yarn. Besided Judi-who would guess there are 17 different ways to string cereal onto yarn. I had the pleasure of listening to Bridger read to Darin as I did the blog tonight. He is doing great!
BRRRR-it's cold outside
These are the same caves with the waterfall iced over. I got this off the Black Hills Travel Blog. I can only imagine how fun it would to try and get up there now if the creek bed looks anything like the waterfall. I thought it was pretty cool looking.
Darin told me the high yesterday was -2 degrees. Today the high is supposed to be a whopping -7degrees. Bridger was carrying on about not wanting to wear his snow pants yesterday morning. I told him fine-you are not going outside anyway for recess. They send them out for recess as long as it is higher than 10 degrees. He did finally tell me he appreciated his "bogs". They are rated at -30degrees. When he out grows them they almost fit me. So I am set, as long as I like Spiderman.
Bridger had his first basketball practice last night. The coach is a parent that we met from his t-ball experience last year. The coach is the mother of the most spastic kid I have ever seen. She must have patience right? Several other boys played on Bridger/Darin's team. There are no other Verda kids on the team. Kind of disappointing, Bridger does better when there are people he knows-who doesn't though.
Bridger did have a hockey game Sunday night. He played very well. He did actually try to score, but didn't make it. Darin and I have both noticed that he does seem to intimidate the opposing team and the boys will pass off the puck when Bridger skates up to play defense. We are trying to get him to be more aggressive and keep telling him he can do it, he can do it, he can do it-just like that little engine that could.
Today it all about being warm!!! Stay warm everybody.
