We have been at the townhouse since Thursday evening.
Friday we did some work at the townhouse and then Bridger got to go tubing in the late afternoon.
Saturday we did more work around the townhouse. We didn't make it back into Steamboat. Bridger was hoping for more tubing.
Darin had commented about the hummingbirds buzzing his head when he was outside the backdoor. He finally spied this nest. We couldn't hardly see the nest unless the hummingbird was in the nest.
We laid down laminate in what has been considered Bridger's room. I put tongue and groove on the wall that got a new window in Bridger's room.
We are heading back to Casper today, Sunday.
Bridger Myers was born May 30, 2003 to Darin and Ginni Myers. He has been a busy little guy for a number of years and plans to continue his busy-ness.

Work before play
Temperature of water keeps getting cooler the closer to the river. Very pleasant at the first pool of water.
oh-yeah--I forgot sunblock in the morning. Bridger and Darin kept laughing about my sunburn lines. It is OK this morning.
These pictures are somewhat reversed order. (downloading issue).
To look at the pictures one might think we just played on Friday. Since I am here, that is unlikely!!!
We did get a bit of work done in the morning. I must love to "paint", because it seems like that is all I ever do here. I stained the new decking at the front door. Bridger came out and helped me until, his hips starting hurting. The part I did alone took about 1/2 hour. The part he helped with took about 20 min. Then I couldn't resist the 5 gallon bucket of Restore for the top deck. It is supposed to restore old wood. It was a mess and I got a lecture from the "master painter" that I should have watched the video on how to apply it. I was told from the paint mixer at Home Depot to roll it on in one direction-DO NOT GO BACK AND FORTH. yeah, well tell that to the arms that couldn't resist "painting". I learned a little trick from the video though, how to smooth out the texture.
Darin kept busy with projects also. He sealed the roof line around the sky light and chimney, with Bridger's help. They managed to roll down a roll of paper towels off the roof. A whole roll and it was the only one we had. It was saved eventually.
Bridger begged to go tubing and so mid-afternoon we headed into Steamboat. I decided we needed to get the adult errands done before playing, plus we had to still find tubes. We finally got to the river around 5:30pm. It took 20 min to blow up tubes with the air compressor. It took about 15-20 min to float down. Darin's tube wasn't blown up enough and he walked along with Bridger. He didn't cooperate for pictures.
We parked near the Hot Springs swimming pool. We found this little "hot tub" before they even started. Because it was taking so long for air pumping--I said go ahead and I would wait at the warm water. The river water was COLD in comparison. I sat and waited and talked to other floaters that came by to warm up before heading off again. When Bridger came along I had been talking to 2 20-something year old guys--with beer. They were polite and pleasant--they kept calling me "Ma-am".
They had literally been laying like Bridger is one picture. That is why Bridger decided to do it.
We stopped for groceries after tubing and then headed back to townhouse. We had a late dinner and an even later movie. I finally had to get grumpy and ask those two to please turn off the TV and GET TO BED!!! They won't be moving early today!!!!

awards
I don't know how he does it, but once again Bridger earned a camp award for his attitude and effort. He got one the first year he went to Air Force Hockey Camp, then again last year at the hockey camp here in Casper. This time he won a personally autographed specialized hockey stick from a previous Avalanche player. They didn't make it known who won the award so no hard feelings. The coaches caught Darin in the locker room and told him so he could arrange to have Bridger stand in line for an autograph-they passed off the hockey stick as if it was Bridger's. Bridger told me that one kid noticed it was a left handed stick and he knew Bridger was right handed.
I told Darin I didn't think it was right to hide it from other kids-how else do they learn about disappointment and experience someone else's success. He said after dealing with most of the other dads--it was good the way they did it.
These beauties are from golf yesterday. Blue for driving, red for "pitching" and white for putting. Last night after we finished our round, Bridger stayed and putted on the putting green. He does amazing for driving when he hits it correctly. But, just like any other golfer-he has good and bad drives. He has a long way to go to hit Darin's drive length, but he and I are always having a bet who hit further.

OUCH!!
Don't use scissors in the dark!!! This is what can happen when you are operating dangerous equipment. I don't even remember what I was exactly doing, except I had scissors in my right hand and had been opening the bags of rocks. I had been getting poked with sticks and pine tree branches on my legs already and no blood. So I was a little amazed to look down and see blood running down my arm into my work glove. I still picked up my equipment to put away before I went to clean it up. I didn't want to have to go back out once I was inside. It is more sore than anything today.
Left over picture from stop at the fancy rest area at WY/CO state line. It was on our way down to airport to fly out to Florida.
July 4th picture. Sammy had more fun spraying the water around. Right where the slide got put is an area of poor grass. The area eventually ended up muddy. Sammy, for some reason, kept sliding off the slide onto the muddy area instead of into the pool. She ended up quite muddy. Instead of waiting for one of the kids to hose her off, she would jump into the pool. And yes, then the water was brown. I joked with Linnea and Shawn about her potential career of mud wrestling. They didn't think I was funny. The water was COLD, very COLD, but from the looks of them---they didn't mind. Besides they could warm up in the hot tub---as long as they were not MUDDY!!!
Very briefly talked to the CO crew last night. Day 2 down and 1/2 day today. No exciting news to report from hockey, but Bridger got an invite from a boy to come hang out and eat at their condo. He couldn't go because Darin had to play yet and didn't know where he would find him to pick-up. Bridger did go see the rodeo. He said he watched the "bull broncing" and "saddle-something". Darin corrected him as he finished telling me. They sounded tired.

hockey camp
Darin and Bridger are in Steamboat.
They are participating in a father son hockey camp. Darin works out with Bridger in the morning for about 1 hour and then Bridger works out the rest of the day (until 2pm). Then they go back for games in the early evening. Bridger plays his age group and then the parents play each other.
I talked to Darin as they were headed back to townhouse last night. He was a little wheezy. Bridger made an appearance at Darin's parent game and then ventured off to the rodeo across the parking lot. Apparently he thought he might sneak in. He came back as the game was getting done not having found a way in. Darin said he heard kids get in free. Not sure if he told Bridger or not.
They checked in Thursday late afternoon with Bridger wearing a Vikings shorts outfit. The main coach is from Wisconsin. It sounds like he razzed Bridger pretty good and took his picture. I would imagine the coaching staff thought they would only encounter Broncos fans. The best part of it all is that Bridger's favorite is Green Bay.
Darin said Bridger seems to be having fun. He said he was holding his own with Bantam age kids (13-15). Tomorrow they have a short day and end it with the kids playing the parents. They will probably head home around noon. Don't know if they will drive back out to shower or not.
Darin sounds pleased with the first hand look of the siding and windows we have had done at the townhouse. They covered up the dryer vent. He figured that out when the clothes wouldn't dry and the dryer quit. I have put a call in about the problem. Dryer is working again, tho, Yeah!
So I am having my 2nd weekend in a row by myself. No WBI this weekend. I have a fun filled day ahead of me at Menards, clothes to 2nd hand store, books to bookstore, trade out movies(thanks Grandpa Roger) and eventually my butt in the backyard with a beverage. I am bummed that Linnea is out of town and we can't go get ourselves in some sort of trouble (HA! HA!).
"It's all good" quote by Chase Myers In case any of you have followed the quote thing Judi sent out about Shakespeare. What did Momer used to say--"Goodnight Nurse"?
Guess we all have our favorites. My favorite is, "We're the 3 best friends-anyone could have!!!" That is for my 2 partners in crime, last name-Myers. Miss you guys--especially when it comes to lifting those bags of rocks today!!!

Riding
Bridger had riding lessons tonight.
He sure seems comfortable in the saddle.
Cantering.
A video of trotting.
A video of cantering.
I was able to take the night off and watch Bridger ride. He really enjoys it. He does everything. Gets his horse from the pasture, saddles it (with Ginni's help), puts the bridle on, and then reverse when done including brushing him. I am glad I was able to make it out there tonight.
This one dates back to 1952.

Summer Time Fun
Ginni got home from work and we played a round of twilight golf.
Sunday night we made homemade ice cream. I found a new recipe that was pretty good.
Bridger and I came across this guy in the middle of the fairway last week.
Bridger showing me he is not scared. It was funny to watch him try to hit his ball and watch were the snake was though.
It has been hot over here. Bridger and I played a round of golf after his lessons and it was very hot. It was a lot nicer that evening when we went out with Ginni. Ginni is going to go out again tonight for ladies golf. Bridger and I have hockey camp at the end of this week in Steamboat. I hope it will be a fun camp.
Stay cool.

Pole Creek
Bridger did not mind the cold water.
Trying his hand at fly fishing.
It was a little chilly when we started.
Bridger and Jampa watching the parade.
We headed over to Pinedale for the weekend. Bridger wanted to sell his para-cord bracelets during rendezvous. He is a great little business man and sold almost all of his premade bracelets as well as custom making several for people. He had a blast selling. It rained yesterday afternoon and chased him off and I was finally able to get him fishing. Ginni had to work this weekend so did not join us.

Parade Day
Bridger getting ready.
Bridger invited a friend to ride with him, in the green.
Bridger grabbed one of out wildland water packs for the water fight at the station.
Ready to attack.
Realizing he brought the wrong weapon.
Today was parade day. Bridger had a blast as always. He saw a few of his friends along the parade route. He did not get enough water though. He is at the neighbors playing on their slip and slide now.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are such a wonderful crowd, we'd like to play a little tune for you. It's one of my personal favorites and I'd like to dedicate it to a young man who doesn't think he's seen anything good today - Cameron Frye, this one's for you."

Dirt Bike
Bridger spent the night with a friend that has dirt bikes. He had a blast riding around.
Ginni and I went golfing together while he was gone. We picked him up and took his friend's family to the lake.
A video of Bridger.
We had a quick weekend. The 4th, then up to Broadus, then to a BBQ where Bridger spent the night and then to the lake the next day. We had a lot of fun but were quite tired.
Today Bridger had golf and he got to see a snake on the course. It was pretty funny watching him try to hit while keeping an eye on the snake. Tonight is baseball. If they win they keep going and would play every night this week otherwise they are done. He spent the afternoon out in the yard with his batting trainer.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
"Well he's broken his arm, his legs, his back... he didn't break his neck. I don't understand it, but he didn't break his neck."

The Lake
We made it to the lake on Sunday. Bridger had a blast. We headed over to sandy beach and he played. I did get a video of him running down the hill into the water but it was too big to download. He had fun tubing. He did not want to ski. We should be down there every day this week since it is in the 90's here.
I hope everyone is having a good start to the week.
