Hallow's Eve

Gage was our guest Saturday night for a sleep over.  We had noticed in the paper that there were some haunted houses going on and asked if it would be OK if Gage did that with us.  Darin and the boys decided that they(boys) should dress up to go out.  Gage didn't have his official costume with him so when Darin suggested they go as football players they agreed.  Darin for some reason has an abundance of football helmets at home. Gage already had on a Broncos shirt and Bridger had one also.
We went to 3 haunted houses.  Gage thought the first was the scariest, but it was his very first one ever.  Darin thought the second was the best and Bridger thought the last one was his scariest. Oh, yeah, I didn't go in any of them.  The last one was in NCHS's auditorium.  Neither Bridger or I had been in the school before.  Gage's family is very pro-Kelly Walsh and very anti-NC.  We joked about contaminating him.  After we got home we tried to introduce Gage to scary movies.  He made it into about 5 mins of Scream.  Bridger told me today he was a little disappointed that Gage couldn't watch the movies.  Bridger watched Scream 4 this morning after Gage left.  His comment was that the language was worse than the scarey stuff.  He did ask if someone could come watch the movie with him in the movie room.  Darin watched off and on between first football games of the day with him.  After it was done, Bridger decided to come and tell me everyone that made it to the end of the movie.  We watched Scream 3 together so I knew the characters.
Nice to have this picture of the spider now that he is done for the year.  Last weekend's wind did in the blower on the spider.  It bounced too many times on the roof and broke into numerous pieces.  We talked about finding another blow-up thing that we didn't like and using the blower to replace the broken one.  Time will pass....
Bridger and Gage being old men.
Last weekend's pumpkin carving.  Bridger's pumpkin has already molded inside.  We discovered this when Sammy came over before downtown trick or treating Saturday.  She wouldn't leave it alone after we discovered the mold.  Kids and their curiosity.  Bridger and I took the Meline's  with us to the downtown trick or treating.  I don't know what was up last year that we didn't go.  Might have been when Bridger and I went to SD by ourselves.  Most Downtown merchants open their doors and pass out candy to the kids.  It was a nice morning except for the wind.  I saw several previous patients, which was nice, but sad also.

After the treating we had lunch with the Meline's at our reopened Red Lobster.  We had about an hour wait time.  The kids did remarkably well for the wait time.  Darin was able to join us since the wait was so long.  It isn't a very large restaurant, but I think I heard that it might actually be bigger than the one that burned down.  It is very near to the newer movie theater and Olive Garden.  Our food was good.  Better have been for that wait.

Bridger and Gage are planning on trick or treating together tomorrow night.  Bridger is going to start out in their neighborhood and then they will come to ours.  Did you hear that an eastern legislaturer wants to make Halloween the last Saturday of October?

hockey scrimmage

bridger #49

Bridger had his first hockey scrimmage Sunday night.  It was an inhouse scrimmage with teams made up of the whole 6,7,8 year old kids.  This age group is also called C-D.  It would be called Mites in other places, but hockey is changing a little bit.  Our hockey club is following USA Hockey guidelines and Bridger's age group is skating 1/2 ice for games.  Their practices at least have a bit more discipline and structure to them.  It is obvious that Bridger has advanced his skills in comparison to the other younger aged kids.  Bridger should be one of the ones who step up and set an example.  We will see.  Bridger scored two goals that I remember.  Darin thought so as well.

Rollie and Judi joined us for the weekend.  They got here Friday night.  Bridger and I went off to Gillette for NC's varsity game.  They won, but they decided in the 2nd half to let Gillette come back and challenge them.  It ended up 41-34, but at half it was 34-14.  It was an exciting game and the best part was that Darin got to ride home with us!!!!  Darin had his 3rd place championship for his freshman team on Saturday around 1pm.  We all went and saw that game and as anyone who reads Judi's blog saw that Bridger was ball boy.  He did wonderful this time and paid attention.  We had dinner after we got home and most of us called it an early night for Saturday.  Darin and Bridger carved out a pumpkin today.  I decorated 3 pumpkins without carving them.  We will have to get those pictures posted.  Judi might use some of the ones she took on her blog.  Judi also roasted pumpkin seeds for us.  Thank you!!!

Tomorrow there is no school, but Darin has parent teacher conferences from 11-7.  Bridger will go to work with me.  He has his day planned out between Xbox, Nintendo DS and movies.  I plan for him to do a bit of reading!!!  Bridger has his P-T conference on Tuesday after school.  No set time we just wander in between 4-7.

two fish, one fish, missing fish

So here on our side of Wyoming the wind howled ALL night.  It is blowing pretty good still.  Bridger and I noticed on our way to school we had two limbs down.  We are getting one of the trees trimmed pretty soon, but the wind may help take care of it.

We have snow on the mtn.  The clouds were hovering pretty well this morning.  I would have thought the wind would have blown them right off.

Bridger's flag football game was cancelled because of the rain storm we had yesterday afternoon.  Since rain doesn't effect the ice arena, he went with Darin to the first hockey practice.  He came home and told me that he had a good time.  Darin said he thought Bridger did quite well also.  Some of the stronger players moved up to the next division.  This opens up the chance for Bridger's age players to shine.

Last night when Bridger and I got home (before hockey practice) he noticed the fish was gone-not in the tank.  It isn't a very big tank-about one gallon in size.  We lifted out the "house" in the tank-he wasn't in that.  Darin even sat it on the counter for awhile.  Darin raked through the rocks.  Bridger and I looked all around under the appliances and on the floor.  We moved everything off the counter.  NO FISH.  I kept asking Darin if the fish died and he removed him.  He kept telling me no.  They had to go off to practice.  Darin udderly perplexed and Bridger sad.  Bridger told us he had already had a bad day at school  (little boy stuff).

I watched a little TV, made dinner and waited for them to get back.  I looked into the fish tank myself and sat the house back in.  I turned over the light and looked in it.  Nothing.  When they got home Bridger went back to the fish tank and started to say, " I miss fishey---Hey! He is back!"

We have no idea!!!!!!  We honestly looked over and over for that fish.  He darts around so if he was in the water within the fake foliage he would have scared out.  It is the same fish-he has distinguishing marks.  Bridger thinks he is a secret agent fish that went out on a mission and we caught him out on a mission.  That comes from Phineas and Ferb one of his favorite cartoons.  The characters have a platypus named, Perry, that is a secret agent, named Agent P.  The platypus around the boys acts like a dog would.  I think Bridger should name the fish Perry, or agent P.

ftball pictures

what do you think the discussion is about?

This past Thursday we had a rare appearance of Darin at a football game.  It was even a six oc'clock game.  Darin didn't have a game.  Both teams, Casper and Gillette thought the game was at their respective locations.  So by 4:30 when neither teamed had shown phone calls started.  It will  be rescheduled for a later date.  Darin brought the camera and it was still light enough to get some pictures.  Most of our games have been at 7pm and it seems too dark for good pictures.

Darin traveled to Cheyenne with the varsity last night and Casper is still 6-0.  Bridger and I went to the KW home game and it was their homecoming.  KW finally won a game.  It was a good game and right down to the wire.  The other team kicked for a goal with 2 sec left and would have tied the score if it would have been good.  All I could think about was block it or miss the goal posts-I was tired and didn't want to have to sit through overtime.  Gage's Mom and I sat together and Gage and Bridger got to play.

There is quite the discussion between Darin and Bridger about doing some kind of hunting.  A few of Bridger's friends have been on hunting adventures.  Bridger is wanting to have the same opportunity.  We went to Sportman's Warehouse and picked up regulations to look for places for bird/duck or four legged hunting.  I think they might go shooting tomorrow out at the shooting range.  Darin dug out some old cami clothes that don't fit him any long and Bridger has been wearing them around the house this afternoon.

It was a beautiful day.  I got the yard mowed.  Bridger and Darin drained and cleaned the hot tub.  Tomorrow hopefully the boat will be winterized and can then go into storage for the winter.  We keep having very nice days.  I never dreamed Bridger would be wearing shorts to school through September.
