Hockey, Day 2

Happy Anniversary Babe.
The Bash Brothers after the game.
They had these horse statues outside the arena for the kids to play on.
We did get a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving.

We lost our game yesterday 5 - 1.  It is the first game that we have played together as a travel team.  We have two games today.  I will make some adjustments and hopefully have better results.

It is a huge tournament.  Teams from all over the west.  Our hotel is  all hockey participants.  Ginni went downstairs for breakfast and said there was a line clear back to the elevators.  We went out to eat instead.  Ginni is now combat shopping.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Happy Hockey... Thanksgiving.

Bridger came up with this pose on his own.
This is his travel team.

We are spending Thanksgiving in Denver this year.  We drew the early game today and are getting ready to head to the rink.  We still have not decided what we will do for a Thanksgiving dinner yet.  The blessed part is that we are all together.

I hope everyone has a thankful Thanksgiving.

More Steamboat and Tennis

Bridger and Sammy used the for sale sign to play in the snow.
They made a snowball launcher.
Putting the sign back in its holder.
He was the only one to show for tennis lessons on Monday.
I thought it was great for him until I noticed all of the balls from his lessons.
Making a move on the serve.

We only have two days of school this week.  We will head to Denver tomorrow for hockey.  Bridger's class is having a Thanksgiving celebration today.  Everyone is suppose to bring a can of soup.  They mix all of the different soups together and serve it as "Friendship Soup".  Thinking of all the different soups that could be combined does not make it sound very appetizing.

I hope everyone has a safe holiday break.

"No soup for you!"

Steamboat with Bridger and Sammy

Ginni set up the Christmas tree in Bridger's room since we will be down there for Christmas.
Sammy talked Bridger into letting her do his nails.
True friends.
When Sammy was done Bridger returned the favor.

We had a nice weekend in Steamboat.  Bridger invited Sammy along and they had a blast together.  There was a lot of giggling and laughing by those two throughout the weekend.  They never once had a fight or argument.  It is nice that Bridger has such a special friend.

We wanted to check out our new gas fireplace that recently go installed.  It works great.  It was wonderful having a nice warm home and it is from gas not electricity.

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.  Congrats Ginni!!

New Hoodie

Bridger finally made it to the new Dick's sports store and this is what he got.
He had to pose with the hood up as well.
Bridger at our house game last night.

Ginni and Bridger have made it to the new sports store but I have not.  Bridger wanted a new hoodie, Under Armour since it is NC's sponser.  It was about 9 degrees yesterday when he came home from school and that is all that he was wearing, with the hood up of course.

We had a house game last night.  Bridger has fun but not as much as our competitive games.  He really is enjoying hockey this year.  After the game we went out to eat with Bridger defensive line buddy Treyson and his parents.

We are heading to Steamboat tonight.  Sammy is going to go with us so Bridger will have someone to hang out with.  No skiing this trip since the mountain is not open yet.

I hope everyone had a nice week.

Tennis

Bridger showing new techniques he has learned.
Today at tennis he was working on his top spin.  He was trying to show me at home.

I was able to get home early enough to take Bridger to tennis lessons.  There were only one other kid so they got a lot of individual work.  I got back towards the end of his lesson and he was returning serves from the instructor.  He was doing great and even had top spin to his hits.

It was nice to get to hang out with Bridger and Ginni when she got home, for the evening.

Friday

Bridger really enjoys playing the trumpet.  He gets up early to practice.

The Chief Officers got new Class A uniforms.  It is still missing some hardware.

This week seemed to go by fast.  Bridger had hockey with a game on Thursday against the other Casper team.  Bridger's team won.  We have WAHL games this weekend against Pinedale.  I will miss Saturday's game due to a Championship football game in Laramie.  Ginni has been very busy studying for her PA test that is on Saturday.  So Saturday is a very busy day with the Casper Myers spread all over.

I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.

Veterans Day

A serious photo,
and a smiling one.

Bridger's school let the kids dress for Veterans Day if they wanted to.  Bridger was excited to wear some old fatigues.  The school had a contest for who showed the most support and Bridger ended up winning for his class.  He was very excited to call and tell us.  He did not wear the hat.  He found that in my old box.  It is one that Bob Runkle gave me when we still lived in MN.

That is about all that is going on here besides the regular running around.  We are down to the last week of football.  I hope everyone is having a good start to their week.

Rock Springs Hockey

The Bash Brothers, my D line.
Bridger and Jampa.

What a full weekend.  I had football Friday night.  Ginni and Bridger ended up staying home.  We won and are headed to the state championship again.  I got home about 1 am and had to get up early for fire department duties.  We then headed to Rock Springs for hockey on Sunday.

We won both games in Rock Springs.  The kids played great.  Bridger got his first goal of the year which is a big accomplishment since he plays defense.  He got the puck at the blue line and had an opening.  He took in in and shot which was blocked but backhanded the rebound in for a goal.  I was very proud.  We are now 3-0-1 in WAHL play.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Thank you Jampa for coming down to the game.

Hockey

Can you guess which one is Bridger.
Bridger warming up.
Getting ready for the face off.
Headed to the box of shame. (Penalty box)

Bridger had hockey this weekend.  It was the first game for WAHL, the Wyoming hockey league.  The won the first game Saturday night and then ended in a tie this morning, both against Cody.  They played pretty good for the first games of the season.  I played Bridger at defense and he did great.  He did get a penalty today that was a terrible call.  He is so big that kids try to hit him and get knocked down.  He was playing the puck on the boards and the other kid ran into him and fell down and they called him for checking.  It was young kids working the game so I didn't unload on them.

Other than that is has been a busy weekend.  Ginni worked at WBI and I at Fire.  We had the firemen's ball Saturday starting a 5:30 which was the same time the first hockey game got done so we were late.  It was fun and saw a lot of friends. We left early since today's hockey game started at 7 am.

I hope everyone is doing well.
