Sick Day

We lost in the championship 5 - 2.  Bridger is on the right.
Bridger with his medal.  He had a couple of really nice goals.
We went out for a late lunch after the game and Bridger found the camera.
Me and Bridger with the second place trophy.

Bridger had a good tournament this last weekend.  We ended up 3-1-1.  We tied Billings the first game and then they beat us in the championship.  Bridger scored the first goal in the championship game.  This weekend we head to Rapid City for a tournament.

Bridger had to be picked up from school yesterday because he was sick.  I called in and am home with him today.  We started the day out with a breathing treatment.  Poor guy.  About 9:00 am I spiked a fever and tummy was upset, so we are both dragging.

We got more snow last night.  Ginni is afraid that I stayed home so I could go skiing.  I did think of it so maybe that is why I got sick.  That dang karma.

I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday.  Stay indoors up north with that storm.

More Ski Pictures

Bridger going off trail to make his own tracks.
Heading down to the black runs.
Skiing the moguls on Nasty Gash.
Last year at our tournament.  I had fire training that day also.

We have our tournament this weekend.  We split into two teams and I think I have the better of the two so hopefully we will do good.  The schedule is great this year compared to last.  Last year we had a game at 6 am, during the day and then at 7pm.  This year we start at 8am and are done before noon.  We might even be able to get in an afternoon ski.

Everything is going well for us.  Looking forward to the weekend.

Back at Hogadon

Bridger wanted to ski this run because of the name.  The Bone Yard.
He wanted a picture of the sign.
On one run I shot off through the trees and was surprised to see Bridger following.  He had fun making new tracks.
Bridger wanted to take a picture of me.  So he did.
This is one of the hardest runs at Hogadon.  You drop off the lip through rocks and then moguls all the way down.  He skied it great.

Bridger and I had the day off yesterday and decided to take advantage of the 12" of new powder.  Unfortunately Ginni had to work.  Bridger's goal was to ski every run on Hogadon, which he did.  His next goal is to ski all of the runs in one day.

I hope everyone else enjoyed President's Day as much as we did.

Great weekend with Bridger

Bridger got to get a prepaid phone for while we were in Jackson.  Since I was leaving him alone 2 hours at a time I wanted him to have access to me if he needed.  He has had so much fun with his phone.  It is a little sad that there are not more people for him to call.  But, that is the point I have been trying to make to him, that other than family, no one else he knows has a phone.  It sounds like Gage will be getting a phone for his birthday, one week ahead of Bridger's.   The picture above is Bridger having tucked the phone between his head and helmet talking to Darin.  We joked about him have a LARGE bluetooth headset.
We sat outside the Snow King Resort waiting for the shuttle to ski at the "Village".
Somewhere up on top at the Village looking back toward Jackson and Snow King's runs that we skiied the day before.
Bridger and Gage at lunch in "Casper's".  Bridger pretended to give him a smooch the picture before while I was trying to take their picture.  Then Gage made the funny face.  They are just at that age.  They are so fun to be around.  When I couldn't ride up with them they would have their little helmeted heads together talking.  Who knows what they talk about.  I will say it is NOT Girls. (yet)
Those two were so willing to ski about whatever.  We skiied with Gage's family.  For awhile the Moms skiied with the boys.  Stacie was very willing to challenge them.  I just hung in there and had fun.  I didn't know if I would be able to walk the next day, though.
After skiing we stopped at the Ice Arena and caught the last few minutes of the Squirts game against a Pinedale team.  Squirts are the division above Bridger's.  The man above is Bridger's head coach, Kevin, who also coaches the Squirts.  They beat Pinedale 5-0.  The other boy is Cole.  He wanted to try the tubing.  We decided to tag along.  Darin would be appalled that Cole did not have boots, gloves or any other winter gear.  I outfitted him with an extra pair of Bridger's snowpants, 2nd pair of Bridger's boots, googles and the face mask.  They had gone to get him gloves.  Anyway, we ended up with an extra ticket and I decided to tube again because I still had on all my ski stuff (Bridger also).
Posing for a picture.  It actually was not that cold outside.  I don't know how the workers manage it for 2-4 hours.
It got dark and we ran out of time.  They invited us to go out to eat with them.  We went back out to the Village to the Mangy Moose.  We actually got right in.  I would have rather stayed in, but we were being social.  Bridger had so much fun with Cole.  It was a nice thing because leaving Gage was an ordeal in its self.  Bridger and Gage were plotting hard to get to stay together at either our place or theirs.  They were at the Village.  Neither parent wanted to run kids back and forth.

Darin and Bridger have one more day and I go back to work Monday.  It was a nice weekend that I had with my son.

Jackson Hole, tubing, boarding and skiing

after we got to Jackson yesterday we raced to get stuff put away and then went down the hill to tube.

Bridger enjoying the sunshine

This person kept trying to bargain Bridger for his coat.

Same guy giving a good spin and twist for going down the hill

Bridger had a snowboarding lesson today.

But, skiing is still his favorite.

I had lectures this morning and then we skiied this afternoon.  We got some ice cream at the ice cream social at the conference.  Then I was "learning" again for another 2.5 hours.  Bridger and I had dinner and then went to the pool.  I was brave and swam with him briefly.  the hot tub was much more warmer.  Some older boys from Casper are here for a hockey tournament.  Bridger had fun swimming with them.  I had to ask nicely a couple of times to head back to our room.

Tomorrow we are going to ski the village after the morning lectures.  Gage is here with his family at the village.  Bridger wants to ski with him.

Darin made it to Denver.  That is about all I know for him.

Jackson and Denver

Ginni was trying to find this picture from Jackson.  Bridger's 1st ski.
These are the kid seats that they had a a steak house in Steamboat.

Ginni and Bridger headed out to Jackson for few days.  I am headed to Denver for a football clinic.  I think they will have more fun than me.  They are probably having more fun right now driving since I am sitting in staff development meetings right now.

I hope everyone has a good Friday.

Another Beautiful Day

G & B and his friend Gage at the top of the hill.
One of Bridger's favorite runs, Chip and Dale.
Bridger likes skiing through the trees now.  Gage, not so much but still followed.
Bridger's boots progression.  I found his first boots and they are tiny.

Bridger had a sleep over Friday.  They stayed up late being boys.  It took a bit to get them rousted in the morning to go skiing.  It was a beautiful day up on the mountain.  It was 9 degrees at the house and 30 up top.  I remember days like that in Jackson when it was 20 degrees warmer at the top then at the Village.

No skiing today.  We have things we need to get done around the house and then Bridger has a hockey game this evening.  It would be a great day to be up there again.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

FRIDAY!

Bridger likes to wear my camo gater.
G & B at the top of the hill.  The Big Horns are in the background.
Bridger lost a ski at the bottom of a Black run and decided to keep skiing on one.
Bridger ready to dump over the top.
The walk back to the truck at the end of the day.

Here are some more pics from last weekend.  Bridger is having a friend over and we are going to try to go skiing again tomorrow.  It has been a long week and I am ready for the weekend.  It was a pretty uneventful week so not much to report.  We are all doing well.  Bridger actually told me that he likes reading this week.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

spongebob food

Bridger got a SpongeBob Cookbook for Christmas from Grammy.  The last several days we have tried some different recipes.  To begin with Bridger and I sat down to make a grocery list.  I discovered the things he wanted to make were all fruity or sugary.  Our first creation was "Krabby Patties".  I made the yellow cupcakes and brownies.  We cut the cupcakes in two pieces and Bridger put the lettuce/pickle (green) and ketchup(red) on the buns.  The brownie was the "burger".  He enjoyed all three that you see.  He made a "meat-less" Krabby Patty for Darin.  I never tasted them, but Bridger did ask about making some more for snacks at school.

This was Sunday breakfast, courtesy of the Spongebob cookbook.  We have a "Plankinton" egg dish.  I don't remember the official name.  The cookbook suggested a strip of green pepper for his eyebrow, but we had avacado.  In the next picture, keeping with the SBob spirit, I made the hole cut-out a star instead of circle.  That would represent "Patrick". The smoothie was also from the cookbook.  It is a mango, banana, strawberry mixture.  Bridger chopped all but the mango and whirred the blender to make it.
It has been a good experience for him to measure and see how long some things take to make.  We made the smoothie again yesterday morning for ourselves at breakfast.  There was some leftover and he enjoyed it again with his dinner.

In the evenings we have been watching a FoodNetwork show called, "Chopped".  Bridger really likes to watch it.  His favorite part, of course, is when a chef gets chopped.  4 chefs start out with a basket of ingredients that they have know idea what will be inside.  They all have to make something within 20 min and turn the dish over to judges.  One person's dish will be eliminated.  The competition goes on until two are left to make a dessert.  They get somethings that we have never heard of.  They will get very odd combinations, especially for the dessert.  Sunday evening Bridger was our judge for our Super Bowl dinner.  We had ribs courtesy of Darin, cheesy potatoes from me and a can of green beans.  Nobody got chopped because Bridger didn't want to pick my potatoes in front of Darin's ribs.....

Guess what chef has this famous trademark saying, "BAM!!"

Lots of POW

We had to climb a bit to get on the ski run we usually start on.
Bridger tackled this black diamond with no problem.
Enjoying a beautiful winter day.

We had a great day of skiing yesterday.  Ginni's knee was hurting so only made it a couple of hours and then came back up to get us in the afternoon.  The hill was packed we got lucky and got a spot at the end of the parking lot.  People were then parking out on the road so it became a one way road.  They were announcing that all of those vehicle would be towed.  Right, the tow truck would not come up in that mess.

We are going to head up again in a little bit.  Hopefully it is as nice as yesterday.  It was in the 20's the sun was out and no wind.  A perfect ski day.

I hope everyone enjoys the game today.  If you are just watching for the commercials you don't have to they are all on youtube.

Wyoming Planking

Mom asked me to post a picture of Bridger "planking".  Here it is.  We are headed up on the mountain today to enjoy the new 16" of powder that Hogadon got.  As Bridger would say, "we are going to carve up the new POW!"

It has been a long week.  We are all looking forward to just relaxing and skiing for a couple of days.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weather.
