Champs!

Bridger with our first place trophy.  The kids put on war paint for the game.
Bridger taking a challenge from some parents.

We had a great weekend of hockey.  We made it to the championship game and played the team that beat us in seed play 8 - 2.  It was a barn burner and we won in a shoot out.  I was very happy for the kids.

After our Saturday games the kids played in the water park while the parents sat in the lounge talking and ordering food for the kids.  Bridger came in and a couple of ornery dads bet him he could not eat a three slice pizza sandwich.  Bridger stuffed it down got his 15 bucks but then headed upstairs to our room and puked.  He then asked Ginni if had to give the money back. ( He did not.)  When he got back to the table he had another piece of pizza.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

More Skiing

Being silly before heading up to the slopes.
Bridger having fun in the powder.  We skied in the powder all day, it was great.

We have our last hockey tournament this weekend.  It is in Rapid City.  We will head over tomorrow.  This is always a fun one for the kids because the motel we stay at has a water park.

Not much else happening here.  It has been an interesting work week.  It is finally over since we are taking tomorrow off.  I hope everyone is doing well.

Steamboat

Getting ready to head up the hill.
Bridger and Ginni coming down the slopes.  That is not meteor like in Russia.
This is the lift that Ginni did the Spiderman off of.  You can see her tracks behind her.

This is what it looks like in the village at the end of the day.

We have had a good time down here.  The snow was good which made for great skiing.  Minus the injury.  Bridger not only had fun skiing but entertained himself outside at the house also.  We will be back down again for spring break.

Happy President's Day.

"Mr. President, it's time to get you off this plane!"

valentine day party

Bridger had a bowling party at one of the local lanes for Valentine's Day celebration.  We didn't have to deal with Valentine cards at school.  Yeah!!!!

The lanes turned off the lights and turned on the disco lights.  They blared music the kids liked.  They even tried to do trivia (educational) for the kids.  Bridger said he had fun.  I came and left before it was over.  I gave him some bowling tips and he said he did better after I left.

The other boy is his new Gage.

We are heading to Steamboat tonight.  Darin and Bridger have not had school Thurs or Fri.  Darin has had development time.  He so enjoys it.  Bridger stayed home yesterday by himself.  Darin did get home much earlier than planned.  Bridger said last night he might go to work with me today.

Movie Quote---

"Hey, I hope you don't mind, I got up a little early, so I took the liberty of milking your cow for you. Yeah, it took a little while to get her warmed up, she sure is a stubborn one. Then, POW, all at once. "

"We don't have a cow. We have a bull. "

"I'll brush my teeth."

Hockey shots

I endured the cold of the arena and took pictures one game.  I was right on the side wall with couple of dads also enduring the cold.  They were all several inches taller than I was so I had to stand on two chairs side by side to see over the glass and around them.  They were nice and we joked about them recording the game and me keeping my mouth shut.  I have a tendency to express my dissatisfaction and not remember I am being recorded.  A couple of times I lost my balance, but was a "wee-bull" and never wobbled down.
It was great being so close and using the big lens on the camera.  This is the best action shot I got of Bridger, but didn't get the puck in the picture.
I put this one in so you could see Darin being coach.  I think the red jerseyed kid must have fell down, which is odd, since they were just getting ready for the face off.  Bridger is a defenseman top left, closest to boards.  Bridger played offense in the last game and was able to score while on offense.  The score of that game was 15-0.  Bridger will seldom score on defense.  He plays his position so well, while his other defense player/partner generally doesn't.  Bridger usually is forced to cover for two.
The sky box where majority of parents sat.  I took this to show someone else.  We could look right out onto the goalie as the skybox was built out over the walk way into the locker rooms.  It was very nicely heated and during some games-down right hot.  Only 20 or so chairs and if you didn't get there early you stood.  Most of the games the Casper parents occupied the most seats.   For such close quarters and two sets of teams' parents-everyone was cordial.  There was one grandpa most of us from Casper would have liked to have taken to the parking lot---but we didn't.  It was sound proof up there.  We couldn't hear what was going on down on the ice.  As parents we would be encouraging our player to keep SKATING and not know why they weren't.  The whistle would have blown and stopped play, which we couldn't hear.  When I was down on the ice I could hear Darin quite clearly across the ice.  He has a very stern coaching voice.  The players shouldn't have any trouble understanding him.

Bridger and I off to school and work!!!  Have a great day!!!

Hockey

One of the kids brought anti eye glare stick-ons to the game.  All of the kids put them on and then gave their tough guy look.

We had a nice weekend in Colorado.  Bridger played very good.  We ended up in the consolation bracket and got 3rd overall.  In the last game Bridger got two goals.  One of them was a nice backhand shot that he flipped over the goalie in the top shelf.  I was very proud of how he played.

We are back to the grind.  School, homework and hockey practice.  The season is winding down.  We have two house games and one tournament left.  I think Bridger is ready for a break before heading into baseball season.

The weather here has been in the high 40's to low 50's.  We have not been up on our mountain skiing at all.  We will head back to Steamboat in a couple of weeks to play in the snow.

I hope everyone is having a good week.
