Team Wyoming

Bridger waiting for his shift.  He is on the bench at the blue line.
Going in for the puck on a faceoff.
Bridger made Team Wyoming!!!  Now they need to get the name right.

Bridger's weekend consisted of hockey, competing against 50 kids for 1 of the 28 spots open.  The team Wyoming tryouts were Friday through Sunday.  He played really well.  I had a lot of the coaches that commented on how good he passed and how he could predict what was happening on the ice.  The head coach told me that he was on the bubble of A and B squad and they may have made a mistake by putting him on the B squad.  I think he will develop better on the B division.  We are very proud of him.

"I'm not looking for the best players, Craig. I'm looking for the right ones."

Football

Bridger's first day of Junior High football.
He wanted more practice so suited up and worked on tackling in the back yard.

Bridger was excited to started football today.  He enjoyed it so much he put on his personal gear when we got home.  Bridger has a busy week.  Besides football he is trying out for the another travel baseball team Thursday.  On Saturday he is trying out for Team Wyoming hockey.  He sure is a busy boy.  We do let him sleep once in awhile.

"You're hurt. You're tired. You're bleeding. I'm gonna make you a promise. We get into that endzone, you're not gonna feel any pain."

Stretching out the Summer

Bridger finally got his trophy from the Juniors championship.
Bridger scared the turkeys off on #5 earlier this week.
Bridger enjoying the sand at Alcova.
Having fun tubing.

Ginni played in a golf tournament at the CC this weekend.  She got done early afternoon today so we headed to the lake.  It finally warmed back up.  We set a record low of 29 degrees and I think the high was in the 50's Saturday.  Not real fun to golf in.  Bridger did not ski today but had a blast in the tube.

I forgot to update about Bridger's baseball tryouts.  He did not make the team but was invited to work out with them throughout the winter.  He just finished up a hockey camp this last week.  Tomorrow he starts football.  I do not have practice until later so I will be able to be with him.  He is very excited for football this year.  I can not believe that we have our first game this week.  Goodbye summer.

"But it's true! I've just had the best summer of my life, and now I have to go away. It isn't fair."

Awards Night

Bridger and I played in the Father/Son championship today.  We did not play great but it was enough to win the club championship in his division and win a box of balls.  Bridger had a great round.  I left him with some pretty bad shots that he was able to get us out of.  I enjoyed the time with my son.  Bridger got second in the individual championship.

"It's a lock! I hit my 7-iron like John Daly hits the 3."

Family Time

Bridger Teeing off.
Jammi collecting cattails a "few" years ago.

I found this picture of Jammi and thought I would share.  She has always liked cattails.  I can remember collecting them in Minnesota.

Football has started so I have been exhausted.  We have made it out two nights for family golfing.  I think we are all too competitive at times.  Bridger will get upset from a missed putt and blame it on my nasal hair moving.  I, of course, am not like that.  However it plays out, family time is precious time.

"I don't give a frog's fat ass who went through what. We need money! Hey, Russ, wanna look through Aunt Edna's purse?"

Ready for Elk

Bridger studied hard and
passed his hunter safety class.

We all went different directions this weekend.  Ginni worked WBI, I participated in the club championship and Bridger took hunter's safety.  Bridger tested positive for strep Saturday but Ginni got him on medicine and he was able to finish the course.  He is ready to buy an elk and deer tag.  I am hoping we can get him over to Pinedale to grouse hunt with Jampa as well.

"You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about. A deer's gotta be taken with one shot."

Steamboat

Bridger helping me on the roof, he is tied in also.
Bridger helped me in the crawl space and found salamanders.

This elk was hanging out with the cattle on our road to the house.

We headed down to Steamboat to do a little work on the house after I go home from Pinedale.  Bridger helped with the "fun" work like hooking into the rope system to seal the roof and putting on the miner's light to crawl under the house.  We have managed to get quite a bit done this year.

Summer is sadly winding down.  Bridger has his clubhouse championship golf match on Monday.  This past Monday they had the put, chip and drive.  Bridger won the chipping.  He would have won the drive by a mile but could not get that dang little ball in the fairway.  It is fun to see how much he has improved this year.

"He's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron I think."
